. This group of species includes
STREPTOCOCCUS MITIS

STREPTOCOCCUS SANGUIS

STREPTOCOCCUS SOBRINUS
; and the
STREPTOCOCCUS MILLERI GROUP
. The latter are often beta-hemolytic and commonly produce invasive pyogenic
infections
including brain and abdominal
abscesses.
